Weight Loss Wednesdays: A quick 15 Lbs

Dieting has always been a struggle for me. I’ve always been the type to get discouraged if I don’t see results right away and after numerous failed diets I basically gave up on the idea. But with the winter and hibernation season upon us and another birthday coming along my way, I knew I had to do something drastic. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to change the way I view dieting and that I would really put all my efforts into losing weight. I went out on a quest to research the best way to do this by taking into consideration the best way to eat less, feel full longer and get all the nutrients a 30+ something lady needs for a healthy lifestyle. I researched not only the best food intake but also lightweight exercises that you can incorporate that will keep you healthy, but won’t take too much time or energy out of your day.

It took a little while to gather all the facts and put it into action, but I found the best way to kickstart a weight loss lifestyle that I can stick to and in just a short time I’m down 15 lbs and more determined than ever to continue and see where this journey will take me.

Below is what I’ve been doing:

As soon as you wake up, mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of lemon and 1 cup of water. Drink at room temperature. 

The first week, replace 2 meals with any of the below smoothies and have a healthy salad or vegetables and a protein for lunch or dinner. 

The second week, replace one meal with the smoothie and have a salad for lunch and vegetables with a protein for dinner or vice versa. Be sure to eat very small portions. 

Important: Do at least one hour of lightweight exercise at least 3 times a week. I like to do either do yoga or walking. 

Below are the smoothie recipes:

                                                                        

Ultimate Green Detox Smoothie

2 green apples, 3 stalks of celery (no leaves), 1 cucumber, 8 leaves of kale, 1/2 lemon juice, 1 piece of ginger (about 1 inch), sprig of mint, 1 cup of water and a tablespoon of honey for taste. 

Green Spinach Detox Smoothie

1 cup of spinach, 2 stalks of celery, 4 leaves of kale, 1 piece of ginger (about 1 inch), 1 apples, the juice of 1 lemon and 1 cup of water. 

Apple Berry Detox Smoothie

1 cup mixed berries, 1 large apple, 2 cups of spinach and 1 cup water or unsweetened almond milk. Mix well. 

Avocado Banana Smoothie

1 avocado, 1 Banana, 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of honey

Green Fruit Smoothie

1 kiwi, 1 banana, 1/4 cup pineapple, 2 celery stalks, 2 cups spinach, 1 tablespoon flax seeds and 1 cup water

The way I see it, if I can do this for 3 weeks and lose 15 pounds, imagine the possibilities if I do it for longer… I’m so excited to find out.
